The mission of Apple Tree Arts is to empower individuals to enrich their lives through the discipline and emotion of the arts by providing high quality, developmentally based music, visual and creative arts programs for infants through adults in Central Massachusetts. Its instructors are highly trained to lead music and movement classes for children from birth through age five, inspiring the spirit of young children through active participation in singing, dancing, rhythm instruments and playful activities. ATA offers group keyboard and ear-training classes to children ages 5-7 and Suzuki violin. Its teachers provide music education to area preschools and daycare centers. Additionally, Apple Tree Arts offers high quality private instruction in piano, flute, recorder, clarinet, guitar, voice, cello, French horn, harp and violin, culminating in four student recitals per year. ATA also offers literary writing courses and workshops as well as multimedia art classes. It has an adult flute choir and a new experimental orchestra for older students. ATA provides musical theatre experiences for children and it is growing into adult performances as well. Its summer programs include a continuum of the yearly schedule plus weeklong integrated arts programs and musical theatre productions for elementary age children. ATA produces a small one-woman theatrical presentation in its local community that will outreach to area communities. It also provides community concerts featuring local, regional and nationally acclaimed artists.
