General
Pakachoag Community Music School provides quality music instruction for families residing in over 30 Central Massachusetts communities in and around Worcester and Auburn. A comprehensive private instruction program includes opportunities for participation in bi-weekly musicianship/theory classes, monthly performance classes, semesterly recitals, and faculty-led masterclasses. Students with a more serious interest in music may participate in completing certificate examination syllabi. Early Childhood Music Together® classes are offered (on- and off-site) for toddlers and pre-schoolers. Additional small group instruction, including recorder clubs and a Creative Drama & Music program, provides a bridge for students moving beyond early childhood music and movement. Special summer programs include integrated arts classes for pre-schoolers and elementary aged students. The school employs 18 part-time staff and faculty, and serves approximately 600 students during the course of the year. This includes about 300 students reached through grant-funded outreach programs for low-income families and for youth and adults with special needs.
