General
Music Institute of Lexington offers residents of Central Kentucky with the finest in music instruction on all instruments, voice and early childhood music including traditional and Suzuki instruction, general music classes, instrumental ensembles and group lessons. Our lessons are taught by a 19-member faculty who are active performers and established, experienced artist-teachers. MIL has reached many who cannot afford the cost of instruction through need-based subsidies provided by such supporters as Toyota, National Association of Teachers of Singing, Partners for Youth, the Junior League of Lexington, Keeneland, Little Foundation, 5/3 Bank and Malt Beverage Foundation. The Institute has formed alliances with the Chrysalis House, Lexington Urban Housing Authority, Lexington Department of Parks & Recreation, Center for Women, Children and Families and Nathanial Mission. MIL’s main 10,200 sq. ft. branch is located at the Church of the Apostles, while its downtown branch is provided by Parks and Recreation located at the Carver Cultural Center on Patterson Street.
