INTRODUCTION TO AFRICAN DRUMMING This hands-on class teaches basic skills to play djembe, conga, and ashiko drums. You’ll take home ways to: — Play musically and comfortably — Create rhythm patterns utilizing Dr. Babatunde Olatunji’s oral tradition method — Accompany dance, movement, exercise, yoga — Drum with instrumental ensembles and vocal groups INSTRUCTOR: For over a decade, BOB BLOOM performed as a member of Dr. Babatunde Olatunji’s internationally renowned drumming and dance troupe “Drums of Passion”. Bob served from 1983 to 2003 as a faculty assistant to Olatunji for his “Language of the Drums” courses at The Omega Institute.
