Mr. Sachs has a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from UCLA, and did his credential training in music from CSU at Dominguez Hills. He served as West Middle School’s Band and Choral Director. His instrument is piano, both jazz and classical styles and is a protegee of the renowned jazz master Harry Fields. He performed for ten years at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles, and toured as solo pianist for Princess Cruises on the Sea Princess. He was an instructor for over a decade at the acclaimed Eubanks Conservatory of Music teaching piano, theory, and harmony. At West Middle School, he conducted Band, Jazz Band and Choral programs for teens in Downey, California. Evan has an exceptional gift of communication and inspiration with students. Mr. Sachs has 35 plus years experience and is an expert in the field of teaching piano to children with special needs.

Mr. Evan’s music teaching career began 40 years ago at UCLA, teaching fellow students. After graduation, he performed and taught piano, theory and harmony for a decade at the Eubank’s Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles. He did his credential training middle and high school band and chorus under Joe Nazzaretta, Conductor of the Culver City Community Orchestra, and Leon Guide, Director of the La Mirada Symphony. Upon receiving his credential, he served West Middle School as Music Director for beginning thru advanced band, jazz band and Chorus. MrEvan’s experiential knowledge, communication skills and inspirational approach creates the background for his piano students to be exceptional performers. He is approved for Homeschool Piano Lessons with, Ilead Charter School, Excel College Prep, River Springs Charter and Associated Charters, Eagles Peak and Sky Mountain Charter Schools. MrEvan teaches all ages and levels in their home or his home studio, and is known for an exceptional gift of communication and inspiration with students.

Mr. Evan….Performer:

Mr Evan became fascinated with the piano at a very young age. At college level, he placed in the UCLA Frank Sinatra Competition for Popular Music and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 1979 from UCLA and a teaching credential in music from CSU at Dominguez Hills in 1996. Mr Evan continued extensive study as a young pianist under the personal direction of concert pianists Mona Golabek, Earle Vooreheise, and Howard Richman in later studies with renowned Jazz pianist, Harry Fields., he developed improvising, arranging and accompaniment styles at the piano, which led to many “gigs” in restaurants, church meetings hotels, and featured solo and duo performances. MrEvan performed nightly at hotels like the Century Plaza, and many many others. Princess Cruise Lines picked him as Solo Pianist for the Sea Princess where he entertained enthusiastic audiences travelling to and from many different parts of the world including Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand, Russia, China, and Alaska. Mr Evan continues his musical life as dedicated teacher of very young beginners (5 yrs) thru advanced performers. Inspiring his students and guiding them to be the best they can be, MrEvan is very very proud of their numerous awards in classical/popular/and jazz. Venues for this recognition include the Music Teacher Association Baroque Festival and Certificate of Merit programs, local school band directors, Disneyland Band Competition Program, and Orange County High School of the Arts. MrEvan’s student’s have auditioned for the Music Department of UC Stanford, CSU Fullerton, and Beloit College and have been accepted. MrEvan enthusiastically applauds his student’s recognition and success whether large or small.. he is proud that so many have reached high goals in their music.
