Community Music School is dedicated to providing the finest in music education and making it accessible to all persons in the community, regardless of ability or financial circumstances, fees being based on a sliding scale. CMS offers private instruction in piano, voice, guitar and all orchestral instruments; classes in early childhood music, including Suzuki strings; chamber ensembles, children’s choruses; improvisatory music theatre; and an extensive program in music therapy with both in-house and outreach programs. With a faculty of 33, the school serves nearly 1,000 students of all ages. In April, 2000, CMS received the prestigious Arts Ovation Award for service to the community given by the City of Allentown’s Arts Commission
