Christina has served as a major community-based institution in Wilmington since its inception in 1946. In 1969, the organization refocused its mission to bring the arts to culturally diverse, low income families. Christina offers pre-professional training in a wide range of artistic disciplines and presents a performing arts season to the tri-state region. The Center employs 8 full-time administrators, 30 part-time faculty and operates mobile arts education programs for school age children, adolescent parents and the elderly. Yearly, 1,200 students are enrolled in private and group instruction and approximately 20,000 persons attend public performance series.
