The IUPUI Music Academy is a non-profit, educational organization whose mission, purpose, and primary activity pertain to arts education. As a community music school under the auspices of the Indiana University School of Music at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI), the Academy is committed to providing high quality, professional music instruction to area residents of all ages and levels of ability. The Academy serves over 400 people each year, ages 18 months through adulthood, by offering music classes for children and adults, ensembles, private lessons, and the Conservatory, a comprehensive, college-prep program. The Academy offers a variety of keyboard-oriented preschool and general music classes with computer-assisted instruction to children ages 3-12. Adult classes and workshops cover a variety of topics, including improvisation, recording techniques, and composition. Private instruction is offered in a variety of performance instruments, including piano, guitar, voice, saxophone and most orchestral instruments. Financial aid available.
