Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music teaches and celebrates music and cultural expressions rooted in diverse American and global communities. It is one of the largest such independent (i.e., non-university based) arts institution in North America with a staff and faculty of 250, a student enrollment of over 6,200 per week, and an events audience of over 85,000 per year. The Old Town School’s Outreach and Field Trip programs also provide music education to over 7,000 children of all ages throughout Chicago.
