Personal Statement
I am a classically trained pianist and singer who loves to teach. I believe that the teacher/student relationship and dynamic is key in fostering an environment of trust, respect and appreciation of this beautiful art. I have 10 years teaching experience and teach students from 5 years old to 95. I hold a Masters degree in music and continue my musical studies and training. My studio often encompasses a very varied mix of adult and children alike, who are interested in learning an instrument for the first time, looking to sharpen their skills, interested in increasing their vocal range and ease of their instrument and/or simply for the fun of it. I understand not everyone is interested in becoming a concert pianist or opera singer, howeverI like to offer my students a comprehensive technical understanding of the instrument of their choicesupported by a very easy going and relaxed teaching environment. I approach the teaching and learning process from a point of joy and believe everyone should feel good about themselves during the learning process. I teach in Manhattan in the Upper West Side, Midtown or may possibly travel to your home.
