Emily Matthew is an energetic and experienced piano teacher located in Mound, MN . Under Emilys teaching, students of all ages are patiently guided in their understanding of musical concepts while being inspired to love the piano and creatively express themselves. Private lessons are created to meet each students individual needs and learning style. If you are searching for quality musical instruction with an element of fun, you will find it here! Weekly lessons are carefully and creatively tailored to meet each students personal needs and goals. A typical lesson includes work on artistic pieces of repertoire, as well as a focus on theory, ear training, sight reading, proper technic, and developing practice skillsall at the individual students level. Because she believes strongly in a solid musical foundation, Emily and her young beginners spend much time integrating rhythm and basic musicianship as well as keyboarding skills. This is often includes games and learning activities that keep lessons exciting and energetically fun! Emilys students enjoy learning a variety of repertoire styles, including personal favorites that they may have! Students also enjoy competing in fun studio practice incentives and competitions. The one on one encouragement and instruction received from Emilys Piano Studio will inspire students to love music and become self-motivated pianists. Lessons are weekly and half an hour in length. The 2011-12 tuition is $75 per month. The monthly tuition includes weekly lessons, makeup lessons, ocassional group classes, and an annual recital. Lessons are taught in Emilys home studio. Emily has a music lending library available to her students with many supplemental pieces of repertoire and fun music. Emily also has limited ability for lessons taught in students homes. Tuition is the same for in-home lessons; however, there is an additional cost for travel time. Emily’s Piano Studio hosts a formal spring recital every spring. The spring recital is an exciting time for students to display their hard work and diligence to their family and friends. Participation in the recital is strongly encouraged.
