Personal Statement

Marianne Lacaille is a Buffet Clarinet Clinician and Vandoren Reed Specialist. She recently worked in conjunction with Ted Brown Music as a Clinician to present Workshops in the Chehalis and Yelm School Districts. Marianne also works with the Mukilteo Schools throughout the year as she coaches clarinet sections within the band programs and provides private tutoring. As principal clarinet, Ms. Lacaille has served in the Seattle Philharmonic, Symphony 21, New Symphony Orchestra, Haddonfield Symphony, Lake Union Civic Orchestra,Everett Symphony and the Fairfield Symphony (Virginia).
As a clinician for the Buffet Corporation, Ms. Lacaille presents around 20 clinics annually throughout the region.
Marianne received her Master Degree from Central Washington University (however she began her Masters at University of Massachusetts before relocating to the Northwest) and Bachelor from Boston Conservatory of Music and her teachers have been Harold Wright (New England Conservatory 1980) and Attilio Poto (Boston Conservatory 1980) Joe Contino (University of Massachusetts 1982) and Anthony Gigliotti(1983-84)
In December 2008, Marianne along with members of Trio di Buson gave a world premiere concert at Merkin Hall in a double recital along with Professor Louis and the Chrowmatix and were reviewed by the prestigious New York Concert Review Magazine. In March of this year, Trio di Buson recorded it’s first CD Project which will be released later this Fall and will be on the NAXOS Label.
Marianne has performed in Broadway Shows and Tours including: Phantom and West Side Story in Europe. Additional tours include: West Side Story at LaScala Opera House in Milan Italy (summer 2007), Carousel (east coast tour (2003) and a tour festuring the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber in a worldwide tour which started at Beijing’s “Great Hall of the People”.
In 2008, she was invited to perform in Belgium at the SMAL Museum, Bijloke Concert Hall and K.Kiry Hall (Conservatory of Ghent).

Education / Training

Clarinetist: Marianne Lacaille’s most recent performance venues have been directed toward new clarinet works. In February 2010, she was invited to perform Mathew Quayle’s Trio for Clarinet, viola and piano and also John Alan Rose’s work for Trio di Buson called “Buson’s Ballet” for clarinet,cello and piano (with the composer at the piano)and this was presented at the New England Music Camp in Sidney, Maine.
Marianne has appeared at the Northern Plains Clarinet Symposium, Mid-West Clarfest and the National Music Museum Concert Symphosium.
Here in the Pacific Northwest, she maintains a clarinet studio of around 22 students ranging from 11-18 and is active as a clarinet clinician for Seattle, Mukilteo, Chehalis and Yelm School Districts.
