Personal Statement
I have been teaching and performing professionally for over 25 years. After completing my Master of Music degree from Rutgers University I started teaching private lessons and found I like it even more than I like performing!
Students in my studio experience a relaxed but challenging learning environment. I pride myself on being very patient and I tailor my teaching style to fit each student’s learning style.
I love teaching students of all ages and ability levels, so whether you’re looking to audition for region ensembles, be a music major in college, or have fun and relieve stress learning a new instrument, you’re welcome in my studio!
Education / Training
I began my college level studies with a Bachelor of Music degree at University of Alberta studying with Brian Jones.
I then completed a two year drum set performance certificate at Grant MacEwan College studying with Brian Thurgood.
I then completed a Master of Music degree at Rutgers University studying with William Moersch.
In addition to my degree studies, I spent two summers at the Music Academy of the West, studying with Ken Watson and George Gaber. I also spent 4 summers with the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, studying with Alexander Lepak.
