Personal Statement

I teach Guitar, Piano and Vocal music lessons. I try my best to cultivate a student’s creativity as well as teaching music theory along with songs that the student wants to learn. It is hard to integrate everything but the lesson depends on the student’s level of intelligence as well as innate ability to be a natural musician. Some people are gifted in musical abilities where others need to work at it a bit more. Love of music is important, in order to become proficient at his or her instrument whatever that may be. All lessons I teach, I stress the importance of practice and “Quality” is better, versus “Quantity.” I give everything to my student’s music lessons and spend hours of practicing to teach the music to each and everyone. I also have a degree in Applied Music which helps to integrate music theory and to understand how the notes work diatonically as well as chromatically. I also am very committed to my student’s music lessons and have had students for three to five years.

Education / Training

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Music as well as 18 Master Graduate credits in Special/General Education from Touro College. I also have more than 30 years of performance experience as a Singer/Songwriter with Country, Jazz and Rock and Roll bands. Some of my previous teachers were from CW Post College, Judith Bettina (Voice), Dave Smith (Piano and Voice) and Steve Heim (Guitar).
