Personal Statement

As a teacher, I strive to provide tools for young singers to be the best singer they can be. I want to instill healthy technique that will allow my students to reach the highest potential with their instrument and have long lasting careers. Through exercises and material, we will work breathing, resonance, healthy singing throughout registers, intervallic ear-training, and theory. I teach and coach an array of genres.

In addition to being a technically sound musician, I focus almost as heavily on developing your own unique sound and style. Our voice is how we express ourselves and it’s important to explore it and use it to its highest potential. Through vocal inflection and exploration of registers and colors, I can guide you to create your special voice that will allow you to stand out.

As a performer and songwriter, I know what it takes to have a career and I know how to truly explore the voice. I encourage habitual practice methods that not only build a foundation of technique, but of a good work ethic and encourage the true joy of singing! I want to help every singer – no matter what skill level or experience – find a voice that is long lasting, versatile, and strong!
