Personal Statement
I believe in bringing new and modern methods of teaching for the newer generation of young musicians out there. Every student is different, every student learns differently and every student is interested in going in different directions with their music, and as a percussion instructor I am prepared and willing to take them whichever way that is.
Education / Training
I’ve been studying Percussion for the past 10 years. While in high school I took lessons with well renown and accomplished percussionist Aubrey Adams, retired principal percussionist of the U.S. Air Force, and Substitute percussionist with the National Symphony Orchestra.
After High School I pursed dual majors on percussion performance, and music therapy degrees at the State University of New York at Fredonia. While at SUNY Fredonia I studied under Dr. Kay Stonefelt, Principal Timpanist with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra, retired percussionist with Baltimore Symphony, On and Off Broadway percussionist for 15 years, and ethnomusicologist.
During college I also had the chance to study drum set under Dr. John Bacon, renown and accomplished percussionist and composer in the Western New York area, and World Percussion under Professor Tiffany Nicely renown and accomplished World Percussionist in the United States.
I have participated and attended Masterclasses with Tom Freer, Mark Hodges, Mark Reilly, Katarzyna Mycka, Leigh Howard Stevens, Bernard Woma, Valery Dee Naranjo, Shawn Pelton, to name a few.
