Personal Statement

A native of Toulouse, France, Anne-Lise Koyabe has always loved all kinds of music. She started studying it in a more academic manner when she moved to the United States and joined her middle school choir at the age of 12.

Throughout middle and high schools she was selected to be a member of the top choirs every year. She had the honor of representing her schools in auditioned all county, regional and state choirs every year. At several of these auditions she received the highest score either in her section, or in the choir. Throughout her high school career, Anne-Lise has often times been a teachers assistant in her choir classes, and helped teach her schools beginning choirs. During the summer, she kept her voice in shape by taking private lessons with a member of the Choeur du Capitole (the choir of the opera house in Toulouse, France) while she visited her hometown in France.

Anne-Lise began her college studies at Arizona State University with a special talent scholarship as a Vocal performance student. After a semester, she decided to double major in both Vocal performance and Music education (choral). She is now a senior at ASU.

Anne-Lises private teaching career began in 2010 when she started giving lessons to her little sister. After successfully teaching her for a year, Anne-Lise decided to take on other students. In 2011, Annies Music Studio was created.
