About Me
Thomas is a professional musician from Warren, MI. At the age of 15, he co-founded the Warren (MI) based rock band PBM, proving that there is just as much a place for horns in popular music today as there was twenty to fifty years ago. For the past 11 years, Thomas has performed at bars, music halls, festivals, clubs and colleges in over 40 states, and performed in several cities throughout the United Kingdom. Overall, Thomas has traveled over 250,000 miles doing what he loves best – playing his trumpet and performing music.

During his years in PBM, Thomas played trumpet and flugelhorn on six albums, the last album -One Sip At A Time- being nationally distributed by Red Eye Distribution, an award winning independent label. Thomas traveled to Manchester, England in 2003 and performed on The Manchester Sessions. Select PBM songs, featuring Thomas trumpet playing, were featured on several UK compilation albums which were distributed throughout England, France, Germany and Scotland. He has shared the stage with several famous musicians. In addition to his performances with PBM, Thomas also performs with other local bands in the area. Thomas has used his experiences performing around the world by incorporating them into his teaching methods.

In between traveling and performing with the band, Thomas developed a private studio for trumpet instruction, aimed at young students looking to improve their overall playing and music theory. What began as a studio with one student, quickly developed into a studio consisting of twelve students. The primary focus of Thomas lessons are to develop methods for improving technique and tone through structured practice routines. 80% of his students compete in the MSBOA Solo & Ensemble Festival, and all of them have received Division 1 and 2 ratings to date. In addition to conducting private, Thomas is an active clinician, instructing students at Grosse Point South High School, Cousino High School and Carter Middle School.

In addition to teaching Thomas is also a active member in ITG – International Trumpet Guild as well as a member of MSBOA, NAfME, and the MEA.

Thomas maintains a deeply-rooted passion for music instruction and performance, and looks forward to using his Bachelor of Instrumental Music Education degree from Eastern Michigan University to obtain employment at the secondary level.

When not in the music world Thomas lives in Ferndale, Michigan with his beautiful wife Jenna, and his daughter Charlotte. More than anything he loves being a Dad.
