The Colorado College Summer Music Festival will celebrate its 23rd season in 2007. Full scholarships will be provided to all accepted students for tuition and room and board. The festival brings professional artists of rare ability and international reputations together with talented and motivated students for three weeks of intensive performance and study. Scott Yoo, conductor, Music Director, Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra; Steven Copes, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra; Jon Manasse, Principal, American Ballet Theater, Mostly Mozart, Eastman School of Music; and Phillip Ying, Ying String Quartet, Eastman School of Music are some of the members of the 2007 Festival faculty. Our faculty and their colleagues will present an acclaimed series of chamber music concerts, which give students and Colorado Springs audiences an opportunity to hear outstanding performances of the world’s greatest chamber music. The 47 advanced student musicians who attend the Festival participate in small chamber ensembles, chamber orchestra, master classes, auditioned concerto readings with the orchestra, and private lessons. The Festival student concert series presents three chamber orchestra concerts and numerous small ensemble performances, all open to the public. Students range in age from high school seniors to graduate students.
