Studies have shown that learning an instrument promotes musical literacy, hones listening skills, inspires creative expression and creates a sense of historical context and belonging. In Mammoth Lakes and Bishop, CMU offers after-school programs for pianists and string players of all ages and levels of ability, including private instruction, group lessons, orchestra and chamber music workshops. CMU provides scholarship instruments and tuition waivers to over 40% of group program participants.
