Midland Empire Community Arts (MECA) was established as a multi-arts program to offer students in Northwest Missouri a quality arts education at reasonable prices. Housed at Missouri Western State College, area churches and preschools, MECA offers classes for students of all ages and abilities. Programs include Kindermusik, Griffon Jr. Singers, Children’s and Adult Dance, Suzuki violin, guitar and piano, watercolor and clayworks, just to name a few. MECA also offers numerous nonresident summer camps that serve over 200 students. During the school year MECA serves over 700 students each semester.
