The mission of the Mitchellville Community School of the Arts (MCSA) is to create a multi-disciplinary school that advances quality artistic/cultural development and makes quality arts education accessible to citizens in Mitchellville/Bowie, Maryland and the surrounding areas. MCSA provides a convenient neighborhood location where all people can be exposed to and pursue the arts as a life-long avocation and where motivated students have access to intensive training in specific disciplines. The school responds to the demand for professional quality arts instruction at affordable rates, promotes and fosters an intercultural and intergenerational exchange of arts and heritage; and works in partnership with local organizations and public schools to strengthen their existing programs, particularly where arts education programs have been trimmed.
