The Los Angeles Music and Art School is open to everyone. The student body comprises all ages and reflects the rich ethnic diversity of the surrounding communities. The School’s purpose is to offer education in the creative arts, combined with teaching of social values which enhance the quality of life. The staff of 34 professional instructors teach the 900 students weekly in private music lessons including voice and all instruments. Tap, ballet, jazz, art and drama are taught in small groups. Students are encouraged to perform in Friday evening recitals as well as competitions and special recitals throughout the year. Stars for the Arts, an annual event, is an extraordinary benefit concert which showcases LAMAS students alongside professional performers.
