Founded as a divisional school by Eleanor Stanlis, the Music Academy finished its first year of operation with an enrollment of 147 students and a faculty of 12. Enrollment is now 600 with a faculty of 25. Pre-school music, traditional and Suzuki strings and piano, theory, musicianship and instrumental ensembles are offered. Summer camps include: Chamber Music Camp, String and Piano Camp and Carousel (integrated music and visual arts). Adult classes include music as pleasure and ensembles. Collaborative programming with the public schools was begun in the fall of 1990. Student and faculty concerts are scheduled each semester as well as Showcase Concerts, which include presentations by all Academy students.
