Personal Statement
I am primarily a clarinetist but have experience with all woodwind and brass instruments. I have been playing clarinet for 19 years. After graduating with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a major in Music Business, I worked in piano, band, and orchestra sales gaining experience in the music retail business and knowledge of instrument quality, manufacturers and models, instrument accessories, and instrument repair. Following that, I obtained teacher certification for music grades K-12 in both Florida and Wisconsin, and began teaching in the public school system (in FL) in 2005 as a band and chroal director. I have also been giving private lessons for the past 2 years. In addition, I am an active musician participating in community ensembles whenever possible. Currently I teach part-time PreK-8th Grade music and I offer lessons to all students (elementary-12th grade) who wish to improve or to learn an instrument for the first time. I also offer help with school band music, auditions, solo & ensemble, festival, all-state, all-county, and more. Cost: $20 for a 1/2 hour lesson per week. More advanced students may wish to take a 45 minute lesson per week for $30 per lesson, or a 1 hour lesson per week for $40 per lesson.
