Personal Statement

There’s a reason it’s called “playing” music. When you pick up an instrument you enter a completely new world with so many fantasies to explore and magic to create. A person of any age feels like a kid again.

Nevertheless, music is not all play.

The true goal of any talented musician should be to perform. Such a gift can bring joy and peace to so many people!

The reality is, however, that satisfactory performance takes more than talent; it takes skill. And, to develop skill, we must practice.

Yet, as I frequently remind my students, practice doesn’t make perfect. Practice makes permanent.

In order to know what and how to practice successfully, we must find a teacher who carefully leads us to perfection.

This is why I spent years training to teach music and I now spend hours preparing for lessons each week: I want to help you take your musicianship to its full potential.
