VOICE
I specialize in teaching vocal technique, guiding beginning – advanced students in establishing and honing their skills so that the student can sing any style of music with ease. Students learn a step by step approach making ot possible for the student to fully understand their voice and how best to work with it at the various stages of development. My students range from age 8 through professional touring and recording artists in a variety of musical styles from musical theatre, to rock, pop, Brazilian, and classical.
I also work with students in troubleshooting and recovering from vocal trauma, and work closely with otolaryngologists and speech therapists.
An accomplished pianist and composer, I play piano for my students’ lessons, saving them the additional expense of an accompanist.
As a professional recording classical engineer and video producer, students receive insights into the world of media as it pertains to their career path. Students have the option of recording their live performances, demos and lessons.
In addition to my teaching career, I perform professionally, am the music director at St. John’s Episcopal Church in New Milford, music director of the female chamber choir Circle of Voyces, and am voice faculty at the Hartford Children’s Theatre. I have been on the voice faculty at the Hartt School, Community Division where I was a recipient of the Faculty Development Fund.
I am a member of the New York Singing Teachers Association and the Music Techers National Association.
PIANO
I work with students ages 6 – adult, beginners through advanced intermediate levels.
FOLK HARP
Beginning – intermediate training for ages 9 – adult. Folk harp rentals are available.
MUSIC THEORY, MUSICIANSHIP, SONGWRITING, COMPOSITION
Beginning – advanced training is provided to all levels and is tailored to meet the needs of the student.
