Personal Statement
I run a teaching studio with several teachers and various instruments.
I teach guitar, all ages – specializing in children and adult hobbyists. I have an ability to break down complex concepts into easily manageable parts and will explain them to a student until they “get it”. My students really learn to play, even if they have struggled in the past with other teachers or trying to learn on their own. We have fun, too!
I love teaching adults because I learned as an adult. You can do it and it’s never too late!
I run childrens’ classes with recitals at the end of each year, some at our location and others in the community. I study performance with a top coach in Nashville and so every student gets coaching and recording instruction and practice. Also, I am a songwriter and integrate that into my teaching as well.
