Personal Statement
The daughter of a piano teacher, Janna Williamson graduated summa cum laude from the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music with a bachelor’s of music degree in piano performance, and is currently pursuing her masters degree in piano performance at Roosevelt University, studying with Winston Choi, with a graduation date of May 2018. While at Wheaton, she studied with Karin Redekopp Edwards and was the overall winner of the annual concerto competition. She has performed in masterclass for William Westney, Abbey Simon, Kenneth Drake, and Edward Auer. Janna is an active church musician and has extensive accompanying experience with individuals and groups including the Wheaton College Women’s Chorale, the Wheaton Symphony Chorus, and the String Academy of Chicago. A member of the Music Teachers’ National Association, Janna is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music. She has been a faculty member at the Wheaton Yamaha Music School since 2001 and is both a certified Yamaha instructor and an experienced Musikgarten teacher.
