Personal Statement
Julia loves teaching bassoon and is happy to hear form new students! Lessons are available to students of all ages from beginner to advanced.
Hour lessons are $55 and shorter lessons are available to younger students at the discretion of parents and teacher.
Reeds available for purchase with advance notice.
Lesson study includes fundamentals, etudes, solo & ensemble, recital repertoire, history, theory, and reed-making.
Julia received a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Neuroscience from Oberlin College & Conservatory and a Master of Music from DePaul University. Her primary teachers included George Sakakeeny, Bill Buchman, Bob Barris, and Ann Dufek. She performed with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago from 2012-2014 and currently plays with the Northbrook Symphony. Previously she performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Music of the Baroque, and Chicago Sinfonietta. Julia teaches students of all ages in Chicago and previously taught bassoon and chamber music at Interlochen Arts Camp, Oberlin Conservatory, MusiCorps, Little Marvels Early Childhood School, and the Avon School of Music.
