Personal Statement
Music Lessons for the Complete and Creative Musician:
I am a recent graduate of Oberlin College and The Oberlin Conservatory of Music currently teaching weekly lessons in a variety of instruments for beginning through advanced students in the greater Los Angeles metro area. I have been teaching classes and one-on-one lessons for over 8 years, and have been performing and studying music for over 15 years. For more information about my personal musical resume and experience please click here.
Methodology:
I intend to provide my students with the building blocks from which to perform, record and compose in a variety of musical contexts. From the fundamental techniques of physically playing to advanced theoretical analysis, I aim to prepare musicians for a career in music encompassing music theory, reading skills, and important improvisational techniques that traditional teachers often skip over. I have studied and performed professionally in a multitude of styles ranging from Modern Jazz to R&B, Rock, Folk, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, Pop and more. My versitility allows me to taylor my lessons to the musical interests of my students so they get the most out of their lessons.
