Personal Statement
I am a teacher who stresses strong tone production and fundamental music concepts, passed down to me as a student of Julius Baker, Thomas Robertello, and Laurel-Ann Maurer. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree of Music from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Master’s Degree of Music from Indiana University – Bloomington.
Through various practice techniques and concepts, and a course syllabus designed to get aspiring flutists to play the correct way in the most direct way possible, I generate students who are not just flute-players, but consummate musicians.
Several of my students at high school age are capable of playing college-level repertoire, a testament to their hard work and dedication to a system that gets one to practice smarter, and thus as a result, harder.
I invite all aspiring flutists to join me in helping them achieve much on their musical endeavors.
