Personal Statement
I have been teaching piano for the past 14 years and specialize in beginners of all ages. I earned a Vocal Music Education Degree at Wayne State University and taught general and choral music at North Hill Elementary in Rochester Hills, Baker Middle School and Troy High School, Brookside/ Cranbrook and Detroit Country Day Lower School.
Five years ago, I started using interactive computer technology. My students find learning so much easier now; they are engaged, motivated and have fun learning!
Lessons take place in my home studio in Clawson. Each student is provided the use of a laptop computer, interactive software, and electronic keyboard for use during the lesson. Because the software is interactive, each student is able to progress at his or her own rate. Achievement depends on motivation, ability and time spent on at home practice. Ten minutes a day is all a beginner needs to make good progress.
I offer private and small group lessons. With private instruction, students receive one-on-one instruction and guidance. In small group lessons, (ideal for siblings) students work independently at their own station then rotate to the grand piano when they have completed all 6 levels.
