Personal Statement
I consider myself very fortunate in having received superb Russian-school piano professional training at Kharkov Institute of Art (former Conservatory) and the Ukrainian Academy of Music, Kiev (D. M.A. in Piano Performance) and research based knowledge of music education and child development at Teachers College, Columbia University, New York, USA (Ed. M. in Music and Music Education).
My piano method is based on the best traditions of Russian Piano School. With deep understanding how to build basics of piano skills, I develop a well-prepared sequence of learning material and make arrangements and transcripts of favorite classical and popular tunes for beginners that they play piano/keyboard fluently with ease.
Ultimately, I see my role as a teacher not necessarily in preparing my students to become professional concert pianists someday though I will be happy if they will! but, first and foremost, in inspiring them to love piano and enjoy learning piano, be creative and courageous in their music making and their lives.
