Personal Statement
My name is Jennifer George-Consiglio, I hold a BFA from the Boston Conservatory of Music. I have worked as a professional singer/dancer/actress/teacher for over 20 years.
My studies and performance experience cover a wide range of vocal styles. My very first voice teacher was world renowned, Helen Boatwright, who gave me the classical foundation that has shaped my technique to this day.
I have also had the distinct pleasure of studying with the great Diana Spradling at Syracuse University. At The Boston Conservatory, I continued my training with Walter Boyce and Robert Honeysucker both of whom furthered my grasp of classical technique and its application to all singing no matter what the style.
I enjoy working with students of all ages and abilities and pride myself on my ability to help my students apply the beauty of emotion to their music. I tend to apply the Italian method in terminology as well as when focusing on breathing techniques. That being said, I custom design my approach to each individual because what works for one might not for the other.
Having a wide variety of performance experiences myself, ranging from musical theatre, jazz, rock, pop and opera, I truly enjoying helping my students sing in a safe and healthy fashion but also achieve the quality of sound that suits their musical needs.
As a professional entertainer, I have performed extensively throughout the United States as well as internationally as a musical theatre actress and lead singer in such shows as: Evita, Fame, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Nunsense, Little shop of Horrors, La Cage Aux Folles, Celebration, The Songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Gypsy, Grease, Jerrys Girls, Respect, and Forbidden Christmas, ‘Xanadu’, “Dracula, The Rock opera”, “The Last Five Years”, etc. I have also been a featured vocalist at Radio City Music Hall as well as with Taylor Dayne in Archie and Mehitibel. I have worked extensively as a featured vocalist in corporate industrials for such clients as, Dupont, Abbott Pharmaceutical, Uniroyal-Goodyear, OPEC, AT&T and Ford Motor Company.
