Personal Statement

I am extremely passionate about teaching music, and bringing the joy and knowledge of music to the students life. I believe every person, child or adult has the ability to learn music. Music is extremely important to development, and it has been proven that music can help a students academic achievement.

My teaching style is different from others. I push students to their greatest potential. I have never had a student who failed. I have had many students come back and thank me or pushing them through to achieve their goal. I am extremely energetic, positive, and goal oriented. the student always must be working toward excellence. The most important thing — HAVE FUN! Music is to be enjoyed, and it should not be a chore. I am NYSSMA qualified, and have a BA in child education/music, and am currently working towards an MS in music education. I have knowledge of music theory, and ear training, as well as composition.

Cello is the instrument i grew up with, but I am proficient in Violin, as well as Viola. I have also studied woodwind instruments.
