Personal Statement
It is my goal to to teach, inspire and prepare my students to be successful artists and life-long learners in a highly competitive world.
I pride myself in fostering a nurturing, safe, and highly positive and encouraging learning atmosphere.
I strongly encourage students to explore their own feelings and follow their own manner of creative expression. I guide them in developing a sensible and strong technique, well-balanced repertoire, and unending enthusiasm about learning as much as they can on and about their instrument.
I am a zealous recitalist, a passionate performer, and can be heard as a soloist and in a variety of performance groups all around Central Florida. I am on the faculty of Rollins College and the Community School of Music, and maintain a private studio, as well. My professional affiliations include Sigma Alpha Iota, Delta Epsilon Iota Honor Society, the International Clarinet Association, World Clarinet Alliance, and the Winter Park Musicale.
I hold the Master of Arts Degree in Music (Clarinet Performance) from the University of Central Florida, and the Bachelor of Music Degree, also in Clarinet Performance, from the Crane School of Music/State University of New York at Potsdam.
