Personal Statement
As your teacher my aim is to help you achieve your musical goals and also provide you with the tools necessary reach those goals. My approach is multifaceted. I teach through the music that my student’s want to learn more about and be able to play as well. It’s also important that one of the best parts of studying with a teacher is the ability to learn how to self-instruct. One should be able to take what they learn in their lessons and apply it to learning new things on their own so as not to be completely dependent on their teacher. I’m currently on staff in the Applied Music Program at Suffolk Community College in Selden, N.Y.. I am an active performer throughout Long Island in an acoustic duo called One Gold Key. I offer NYSSMA preparation for guitar students as part of my teaching practice.
