Personal Statement

Music restores my soul. I’ve been making music for many decades since age 9, when I began my musical journey on other instruments. My primary instruments are Mountain Dulcimer and Mandolin. Due to requests I also teach Ukulele. There are other instruments that I do play not listed on this site.

The focus of studies are Traditional Tunes and Melodies, Celtic Tunes, Standards, Music Theory, and the styles of music the student expresses interest in. The entire approach is relaxed yet focused on the skills the student needs to gain for their playing satisfaction.

Be sure to know that I have continued my own personal musical studies. Recently I began to study the Violin and various Hand Percussion Instruments. I’ve also had my early instrument refurbished so I may resume studying Oboe where I left off after High School. Because of all of this I certainly can relate to beginning students.

The studio is located in the Schoolhouse Music store just outside of Danville, PA 17821 Most students elect to study for half hour sessions weekly.
