Personal Statement

Through my experience with many private voice teachers in many genres(opera,jazz,pop/rock,gospel), I feel as though I bring various techniques in developping the voice through vocalises sung in different styles. Having sung in a Gospel Choir at Berklee College, I feel as though the competition and stage experience adds to my teaching on a performance level. I currently teach a world renowed early childhood music program, and am a certified early childhood teacher. I feel as though this adds to my ability to work with children in the years preschool through school age. I have also worked in ensemble settings for middle school/high school children, in a church setting (Contemporary Christian Rock) and in a Teen Rock Band for the YMCA Teen Night. I feel as though my years of my own private instuction, coupled with my teaching experience allows me to be a versatile music teacher.
