The 11th Les Brown Big Band Weekend in Tower City, PA will be held on April 21-23. The Les Brown Big Band Dance is on the first day of the Les Brown Big Band Festival at the Tower City American Legion. This three hour dance (7:00 pm. to 10:00 pm) features the swing music of various big bands performed by the M & J Big Band of Pottsville. Admission price of $10.00 includes snacks. Food and beverages are available for purchase. On Saturday, April 22, the Les Brown Big Band Festival runs 11:00 am-5:00 pm at the Williams Valley High School, Route 209, Tower City, PA. The festival is six hours of non-stop big band music performed by central PA big bands. Featured performers include the Big Big Jazz Band, vocal trio Americas Sweethearts, the Lebanon Big Swing Band and several area school big bands. There is a food court located at the festival. General admission is $10.00, elementary through college students are free. Sunday, April 23, a Celebration in Music will end the weekend. This non-denominational service starts at 3:00 at Grace United Methodist Church in Muir. The service is open to the public. A free will offering will be taken.
