Navarro River String Camp provides an opportunity for beginning and intermediate adult string players (violin, viola, and cello) to enjoy an intensive musical retreat in the redwoods of Mendocino County. If you have an interest in playing with others and want to gain ensemble experience, this is the camp for you! Our group will number approximately 32, and participants will spend time rehearsing both coached and uncoached in several different assigned groups, with music mailed out in advance. There will be evening concerts by guest musicians, chamber music jams with the coaches, master classes, stretch and relax sessions, and activities developing rhythmic, intonation, sight-reading, and improvising skills. Held at River’s Bend Retreat (formally Wellspring) in Philo, California, accommodations are in country cabins amidst beautiful surroundings.
