Personal Statement

My method of teaching is unique and combines Russian and American Schools of cello playng. I believe thas focusing on musical ideas and characters combined with the body awarenes is a key to learn how to play musical instrument. Each of my students receive an individual approach and I teach them how to be independent and how to work outside of a lesson. I select repertoir for each student very carefully so that it was fun to play and at the same time helped to develop technique and musicianship. Music helps to become more creative, free and intuitive. My first teaching experience in 2003 was assisting to Irina Lapteva in the cello class, during her private lessons as a part of the pedagogy class. Later in Moscow I assisted to Maria Zhuravleva first in private cello lessons as a part of pedagogy class, then tutoring her students(5 to 12 years old) during a week between their private lessons(Moscow, Russia) During studies at The Boston Conservatory I worked as a scale tutor for the string department as well as assisting my former teacher Andrew Mark. In summers 2009, 2011 worked as Practice Help Counselor Worker at Apple Hill helping participants to prepeare for their concerts.
