Personal Statement
I specialize in teaching students from age 14-adult. With a background in Public School Music, I am experienced both with the developing voice, and the demands of growing an instrument the right way when school focus on vocal development is limited. I teach classical vocal technique and work with students on all types of music, in different languages. I can help you develop a solid technique, teach you how to apply it to different styles, coach you in interpretation. I have students moving on in Music School at the Conservatory level, and students who just enjoy singing in their school or community choirs and theatre groups.
I believe that finding your voice is about more than music-it’s about soul…and I am inspired and honored to help you do that!
Education / Training
I hold a Bachelors of Music in Music and Elementary Education from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam. My Masters in Arts is a degree in Theatre from SUNY Albany.
I’ve spent several summers in NYC studying with American Singers’ Opera Project and currently study with soprano, Kimberly Kahan.
After working in the public schools as a choir director and general music teacher, I decided to pursue my own singing career at a higher level. Today, I’ve been a successful performing in opera, oratorio and recital and have run a vocal studio for the last 16 years.
