Personal Statement

One of the parents says:

“Yukiko is detail oriented with individualized and achievable goals for each student. She inspires her students to deliver and perform their best. She combines performance skills and music theory and has a great system for accountability and monitoring progress. During my five years or so of enagagment with Yukiko, as my son’s flute/piccolo teacher, I witnessed first hand how much of her soul she would put into organizing recitals, preparing lesson plans, actual teaching, and inspiring her students. I have always been impressed by her work ethic, energy and drive, high quality standards, and the results, and her willingness to go beyond, and deliver value. My son was accepted into the San Jose Youth Symphony and played there several years under Yukiko’s guidance. I feel very fortunate to have had Yukiko as my son’s music teacher and I recommend her as one of the absolute best teachers in music to hire. As an example: I will always remember fondly Yukiko’s directing ‘Peter and the Wolf’ with a group of young musicians. She even took it upon herself to provide music to my other son who played the violin. The performance was a magical wonderful hour of music which our family will cherish for years to come.” – K.
