Personal Statement
I am an accomplished musician. I’ve been playing piano for 50 years. I’ve been playing guitar for 45 years. I studied under the most well known guitar teacher in our county. I am currently teaching autoharp lessons in my home. I have an electric acoustic autoharp (Oscar Schmidt) and a beginner Oscar Schmidt autoharp. If a student has not purchased an autoharp yet, they will be able to use one of mine in my home. I also have an order placed for a third OS autoharp with 15 chords which I think would be the ideal autoharp to start on as a beginner or for children.
Anything I can play on the piano, I can play on the autoharp. Genres include show tunes, jazz, blues, 1950s, 1970s rock, Pete Seeger, Peter Paul and Mary, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Beatles, Christmas, Military marches, folk, bluegrass, country, traditional hymns, Southern Gospel and Irish Celtic.
‘ve played the autoharp for the Community Choir to sing Christmas concert music. I’ve played autoharp prelude music for a local Christian drama group.
I can provide character references. I also substitute teach for a county school district and I work as a contract math tutor for the same schools.
I sing in three community choirs.
