Personal Statement
As a lifelong professional musician I feel I can can help the student with all aspects of music and performance in education, as well as guide students along the path to prepare for scholarships, schools and opportunities.
I have taught bass at a college level in the Cal State System at Humboldt State University from 2012-2014, in addition to teaching bass (upright and electric), piano and all strings from my studio in the SF Bay Area.
I taught in the Washington DC area from my studio for over twenty years before relocating to CA.
I want to show the student they can, with consistent practice, desire and proper technique, play and teach themselves music they want to play. I encourage them to learn about harmony and theory in addition to performing with ensembles outside of lessons.
