Personal Statement
Music has always played a huge part in my life! My goal is to pass my knowledge, passion and musical skills to my students. My name is Lorin Barry, and I am earning my Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, voice concentration, at The Boyer College of Music and Dance, Temple University. Graduating in December, I am currently student teaching. Although I enjoy the classroom environment, I am looking to expand my teaching with private students!
I am a fairly new teacher, but I have been studying and practicing vocal music since the fourth grade. I have participated in numerous choirs, such as middle and high school choirs, South Jersey and All State Chorus, Camden County College Choir, and Temple University’s Chorale and University Singers. I also have experience in college musicals and contemporary singing with gigging bands. I enjoy singing all types of music, as long as I am able to practice a healthy vocal technique.
Healthy technique is key for every instrument. My performance experience and practice gives me confidence that I am able to help any student discover the healthy, singing technique that works for them, no matter what style of music! I am happy to work with any student, no matter their singing experience. Everyone has a singing voice; discover yours today! I am also available for beginner piano lessons.
