The mission of the Bethel College Academy of Music is to provide quality music instruction to individuals of all ages and ability in south central Kansas. Its vision is to extend to a greater number of people the kinds of music instruction previously available to college students. All faculty members have advanced degrees and significant teaching experience and most are regular or adjunct faculty members at Bethel College. 120 students were enrolled at the conclusion of its second year of operation (June 1998). The Academy offers private instruction in piano, strings, Suzuki strings, voice, winds and percussion. Also, it sponsors a variety of group lessons, master classes and recitals during each term of instruction. As a divisional school, it operates under the auspices of the Music Department and the Academic Dean at Bethel College.
