Sherwood Conservatory of Music delivers "traditional" and Suzuki-based music training in 15 instruments, voice, music theory and composition through individual and small group lessons, classes, performing ensembles, and recitals to students from the Chicago metropolitan area. Sherwood serves more than 1,000 students at its modern downtown Chicago facility and approximately 500 more at offsite locations at schools, parks, and community centers, including programs at the South Shore Cultural Center and Chicago Public Schools, and in collaboaration with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and Ravinia Festival. In July 2007, Sherwood merged with Columbia College Chicago, the country's largest arts and media college.
